Wet-Lab Strategy & Experimental Research Support
Who this is for
- Postgraduate students designing or troubleshooting experiments
- Research groups setting up a new assay
- Product and formulation companies planning efficacy studies
Problems we help with
- An assay gives inconsistent results and you cannot tell whether the cause is the cells, the reagents or the protocol.
- You need to plan a cell-based study with the right controls and time points before ordering reagents.
- A formulation needs an efficacy-testing plan that will stand up to scrutiny.
What is included
Every item is labelled with what you are actually receiving.
- Consultation
- A meeting with written notes. Advice only.
- Written review
- Written feedback on your own material.
- Partner coordination
- Work performed by a named, independent partner that you contract.
Cell culture and experimental planning
ConsultationModel selection, seeding densities, time points, controls and replication for cell-based work.
Mesenchymal stem cell research
ConsultationPlanning of MSC isolation, characterisation, preconditioning, conditioned-medium and secretome studies, drawing on her published MSC work.
Molecular biology methods
ConsultationNucleic acid extraction, primer strategy and quality checks.
PCR and gene-expression study planning
Written reviewReference-gene selection, efficiency checks, replicate structure and reporting in line with MIQE guidance.
ELISA and biochemical assays
Written reviewStandard curves, dilution strategy, plate layout and acceptance criteria.
Western blot experimental design
Written reviewLoading controls, normalisation, antibody validation and how to present uncropped blots.
Oxidative stress, apoptosis and angiogenesis assays
ConsultationChoosing complementary assays and interpreting them together rather than relying on one marker.
Natural-product and formulation evaluation
ConsultationExtract standardisation, dose selection and in vitro efficacy-testing plans for natural products and cosmeceuticals.
Nanostructured lipid carrier research planning
ConsultationFormulation variables, characterisation (size, PDI, zeta potential, entrapment) and release-study design.
Cell viability and cytotoxicity assay design
Written reviewMTT and related assays: interference, controls, IC50 estimation and reporting.
Troubleshooting and interpretation of results
ConsultationSystematic diagnosis of failed or ambiguous experiments.
Laboratory SOP review and quality documentation
Written reviewReview of SOPs, record templates and quality documentation for clarity and reproducibility.
Coordination with external laboratories
Partner coordinationWhere you need experiments performed, we can help specify the work and liaise with a qualified laboratory you contract directly. The laboratory is named in writing before you commit.
How it works
- 1You describe the experiment, what has been tried and the results so far.
- 2We agree whether a single consultation or a written review is the right scope.
- 3Our scientific lead reviews protocols and data and meets you.
- 4You receive a written plan or troubleshooting notes with prioritised next steps.
You receive
- Experimental plan with controls, replication and analysis
- Annotated protocol or SOP
- Troubleshooting notes with a decision tree for next steps
What we need from you
- Protocol and reagent list
- Representative results (images, plate readings, Ct values) — summary data, not patient records
- Equipment and model systems available to you
Limits and exclusions
- Rehbar does not operate its own laboratory and does not perform experiments or handle samples.
- Any hands-on work is carried out by an independent, qualified laboratory that you contract, under its own accreditation, biosafety and ethics approvals.
- Planning advice does not replace institutional biosafety, animal-ethics or human-research ethics approval.
We do not offer
- Performing experiments or receiving biological samples
- Animal or human studies conducted by Rehbar
- Claims that experiments have been performed when they have not
External specialists and laboratories
Questions
Can you run my experiments?
Not at present. We plan, troubleshoot and interpret experiments. If you need experiments performed, we can help you specify the work for an external, qualified laboratory that you contract directly.
Can you review my blot or gel images?
Yes, for experimental design and interpretation. We will also point out image-integrity issues (for example splicing or saturation) that journals check for. We never edit images to change results.
